How do I reserve an item?

You can place a hold through the online catalog, by stopping by a service desk in the library, or by calling the library at 785-843-3833.
You'll need your library card number (or username) and PIN to place a hold through the online catalog.
- When you find a specific item that interests you in our catalog, you'll notice a green button next to the item that says "Place a Hold".
- You'll then be prompted to login to your library card account with your card number (or username) and PIN.
- After logging in, the green button will change to red and it will say "Confirm Hold".
- Click to confirm and add it to your list of holds.
Verified accounts may have up to 25 holds at a time.
When it's your turn for an item, you'll receive a notification (email or telephone recording) letting you know your item is ready. Items held at the main library will stay on hold for 7 days. Items held at the lockers will stay on hold for 3 days.
