How do I reserve an item?

You can place a hold through the online catalog, by stopping by a service desk in the library, or by calling the library at 785-843-3833.

You'll need your library card number (or username) and PIN to place a hold through the online catalog.   

  1. When you find a specific item that interests you in our catalog, you'll notice a green button next to the item that says "Place a Hold". 
  2. You'll then be prompted to login to your library card account with your card number (or username) and PIN. 
  3. After logging in, the green button will change to red and it will say "Confirm Hold". 
  4. Click to confirm and add it to your list of holds. 

Verified accounts may have up to 25 holds at a time.  

When it's your turn for an item, you'll receive a notification (email or telephone recording) letting you know your item is ready. Items held at the main library will stay on hold for 7 days.  Items held at the lockers will stay on hold for 3 days.
